This week I've spent a lot of time on my big loom. It took a lot of time to set up the knots on the peddles and making sure everything was working. It's a countermarche loom, so it's more complicated than many looms, but I've got it going! I've only set up a warp that's wide enough for scarves, so I can check I've done everything right before going into a full 6 foot warp for blankets.
I'm really pleased with how this warp looks! I've put two threads together for a single yarn in some places where the wool was only 2 ply and not strong enough on its own. This gives some of the stripes real texture! I love how they've turned out.
Along with this, we also had a full weekend of shows. On Saturday it was out last day at Aldershot. The market is coming to an end, and unfortunately, I won't be going back! It was lovely for the year and a half it lasted, but not enough traders were coming back.
On Sunday we were at our last Sunday at Chawton Village Hall again. I'm just busy at all of their other show dates, which is a bit of a bummer! The weather was lovely and I got a chance to take my new, and much bigger, camper to show against. Everything went well, and even though I couldn't wind out the canopy, the sunshine meant it wasn't needed.
